Recently Tessa Stone told a person in confidence (under the understanding it would go no further) a massive spoiler for Hanna is Not a Boy's Name, which was then leaked to the public. This is, in two words: Not Cool.

A spoiler is called such because it does just that: Spoils the story for someone. By spreading a spoiler around you are taking away Tessa's right to divulge the characters and plot points at her discretion or over the course of the comic. So I'm joining the efforts to spread THIS message.

Please become a fanbase she can count on.


******Okay, So lets Clear Up Some Misconceptions******

1. The spoilers that were shared were done with malice. Not True.
The fan who originally posted them for the public had heard it from a friend of a friend, and was pretty sure it was already public news to some degree.

2. Nothing was done about the spoilers that were posted. Also not true.
Once the spoilers were posted, and it came to light they weren't supposed to be known, the individual who put them up took down the post. Immediately.

3. All spoilers are bad, and therefor all people who partake in them. And once again, not true.
Um. I'm not even sure how this viewpoint comes to exist. My only problem is the spreading of spoilers that Tessa did not release herself. If she's said it, it's fair game.

My viewpoint comes from two places: The fact that Tessa didn't really want it known, and the fact that many fans have stated flat out that hearing this knowledge by accident has completely ruined the current story arc in the comic for them.



I am asking everyone to be cautious about spoilers. Do not assume everyone knows it, and put a spoiler tag in BEFORE the spoiling content (Such as at the beginning of a fanfiction, instead of in an Author's Comment). I am not attempting to personally attack anyone who enjoys spoilers or feels the need to include them in fanwork. I am simply asking please, please consider the viewpoint of everybody involved.
